    1 I see this engine based on LP MUD. I haven't got a good idea of the scale of the work since I'm a newbie. But I think we could get a skeleton set of libraries completed. There is educational and marketing value to this project. When kids 
    2 encounter MUD type games, most of the time they want to start contributing code. 
    3 In this case, they will have haskell as the implementation language. Very often this 
    4 will be the first language many of them will have ever encountered. 
     1Allegro <http://alleg.sf.net> is a very capable C-library for games development. It does everything from packed files to sound to graphics. The way the library is set up makes it a good target for a haskell binding.
