  • Ticket #1615 – Description

    initial v1
    1 Hey,
2 I am thinking of creating a VS11 extension for Haskell development.
3 I know there was an attempt to create a Haskell language support for visual studio but that project (visual haskell) is very old and abandoned.
4 VS11 is an upcoming version of VS which will be released soon. Right now it's still beta.
5 What do you guys think?
1The idea is to take advantage of Visual Studio SDK to create Haskell language support.[[BR]]
     2
     3Things to implement:[[BR]]
     4- Project and file templates[[BR]]
     5- Syntax highlighting[[BR]]
     6- GHC support[[BR]]
     7- Debugger support[[BR]]
8- Autocompletion restricting options to imported modules[[BR]]
9- GHCi in Visual Studio Shell[[BR]]
10- Underline incorrect grammar and display errors[[BR]]
     11
12I plan to support Visual Studio 11 which is the new VS and will be released soon. After that is done, it should not be hard to port extension to VS2010. With all that being done, Windows users will finally have a decent Haskell IDE :-)
