So GHC defines a type OccName (defined in basicTypes/OccName.lhs) that is a pair of a {{{FastString}}} and a {{{NameSpace}}} indicating which name space the name is drawn from. The data type is defined (abstractly) in [[GhcFile(compiler/basicTypes/OccName.lhs)]]:
