  • Ticket #831 – Description

    initial v4
    11GHCi can do some weird things, with the letter g and the up arrow:
    2
    3 > ghci
     2{{{
    43ghci> :m Control.Concurrent
    54ghci> threadDelay 5000000
     5}}}
    66(now, while thread delay is running, press the up arrow once)
    77(once the computation has returned, the following will be on the line)
    88(i.e. you don't type threadDelay again)
     9{{{
    910ghci> threadDelay 5000000
     11}}}
    1012(now just press enter)
    11
     13{{{
    1214<interactive>:1:0: Not in scope: `ghreadDelay'
    13
     15}}}
    1416This works for any computation that runs long enough for the user to press up while its still going. The result is always a g replacing the first letter - I have had gain for main etc. And the buffer always appears correct to visual inspection.
