Building ghc fails because it is looking for an old version of libgmp
Haskell requires libgmp.so.3 but that is ancient.
I'm not sure if this occurs with more recent versions of ghc, but even if it has been fixed in those, it's a serious problem because things like xmonad and haskell-platform require earlier versions of ghc.
This looks similar to #5743 (closed). libffi is the culprit there. Not a problem witht he latest version of ghc (I tested it to see if it would work with xmonad) but I think the libgmp issue is.
