I'm following the Building/GettingTheSources tutorial.

The instructions say to clone the git repository at, but this file no longer exists. As a result, running the specified git clone command on Haiku R1A3 stalls with the message Cloning into ghc... , even in verbose mode.

What is the correct URL to clone?

Edit: The URL is correct, but git cloning still stalls. Is the problem local to Haiku's default git client?

It works for me:

$ time git clone
Cloning into ghc...
git clone 21.21s user 2.62s system 6% cpu 6:07.29 total

Perhaps you just didn't wait long enough? (you should see the disk usage of the directory increasing).

I "ls"'d the directory and no new files were being added. There is an element of waiting; the very same command works fine in Mac OS X. It turns out Haiku OS's git client has poor OpenSSL support, as evidenced by the fact that Haiku git eventually conks out after 5 minutes with a message about SSL certificates.
