I am filing this because ghc-6.8.2 told me to; I'm not competent to distinguish bugs from my beginner's errors.
I had entered
sum [2, ....]
where the .... were the primes up to about 80,000. I had calculated these separately and pasted the bracketed expression into the mac Terminal after the word sum.
The corresponding 'module' with the one definition ( " e = sum [2,...etc...] " compiled with a brief hesitation and of course ran more or less instantly.
