Following a build from source after a fresh 'darcs get' on a x86_64-redhat-linux machine, any ghc or ghci invocation results in an abort with,

(GHC version 6.7 for x86_64_unknown_linux)
stage1 compiled using ghc-6.4.1, stage3 compiled successfully.
