removeDirectoryRecursive should not follow symlinks

It's just, like, a really bad idea. And almost never what you want. (Also, it differs from the behavior of rm -rf). Can we just change the behavior?

Turns out the documentation was misleading, though in some odd cases it does traverse symlinked directories.

The former documentation error has been fixed in db8800. The latter bug should be fixed in this pull request.
