Configured gcc not used for some build steps

The gcc passed to ./configure --with-gcc isn't used for all gcc invocations, leadings to warnings (and potentially problems) on OS X where the default gcc is llvm. Here's an example, the call to gcc -E doesn't use my configure gcc, /usr/local/bin/gcc-4.9:

This also occurs with homebrew clang 3.4.2 on the Mac.

While it's somewhat off-topic, I'm confused because my "Debian clang version 3.4.2-4 (tags/RELEASE_34/dot2-final) (based on LLVM 3.4.2)" does know about #pragma GCC visibility.

I must say that I was surprised, as I thought that it should be supported.

The new Hadrian build system has been merged. Relabeling the tickets concerning the legacy make build system to prevent confusion.
